Twenty Years On...

Yesterday and today mark the twentieth anniversary of the Black Weekend at Imola, site of the 1994 European Grand Prix.

               Roland Ratzenberger, July 4, 1960 - April 30, 1994: Potential unfulfilled.

Here is a nice story on the late Austrian driver: A Racer Through and Through

Ayrton Senna da Silva, March 21, 1960 - May 1, 1994: The Best of All Time

And a story on Senninhna: Senna History

It seems incredible, to this day, that no drivers have been killed during an F1 weekend since that awful weekend that claimed not one, but two drivers.  There have been some close calls, as Massa, Burti and Hakkinen come to mind, and a few spectators and course marshals perished in mishaps, but thankfully, there have no further driver fatalities.
